Tis' the season right? While that is so true, I have had my own personal experiences this week that have reminded me how truly grateful, thankful and blessed I truly am. With our water heater out, and the rotation of kids staying home due to classroom quarantine, it should have come as no surprise that I would get into a car accident as well. Life likes to send you reminders just how absolutely horrible some days can be.
**side note** I wrote a beautiful piece, at lease to me, and this is how much saved before my computer went nuts. I wont let negativity win! Not today! This is will be a recollection of much as I can remember, and probably not as eloquently written.
The car accident was minor and while it didn't cause injuries or property damage, it did ignite an emotional release. I cried with the elderly lady that rear-ended me. We were both so grateful for the outcome. I cried when I finally made it home. My children were momentarily stunned as I rarely cry. After their initial shock wore off they all embraced me and we prayed. I imagine I looked something like Goliath in the center of their circle. My mother was there as well and she is about 5 feet tall. I am 5'9 and then my children are age 10 and younger.
Life has a funny way of slowing us down. Cold showers, quarantine and car accidents... now that's a blog title! I know that we can't always be gleeful and optimistic. Sometimes, we have bad days. That's okay. It's in those moments I know I am blessed to see the silver lining. My hope is that by sharing this with the universe (or at least my few readers) I touch someone else who may have been going through a tough time. Life can suck. Life can also be beautifully written over a joyful melody. We have to listen carefully.
I just want to tell you, yes you, that I am grateful, thankful and blessed you are here.
